Now that summer is here the kids are going to want to go swimming and Dutchess County has some great places to take them. 
The Beacon River Pool is open Tuesday through Sunday - Noon to 6pm and it is free and open to the public.  The pool, 20 feet in diameter and between two and two-and-a-half feet deep, is situated off the north shore of Beacon's Riverfront Park, and can hold 20 bathers. 

Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park has a large beach that is open 9am - 5pm daily.  The beach is located at 1498 Route 301 in Carmel, NY. 

Lakeside Park offers a lake that is open from dawn till dusk. Non-resident swimming costs $10 or $15 for families.   The lake is located at 2 Lakeside Drive, Pawling.

Splash Down Beach is located at 16 Old Route 9 West Fishkill, NY 12524 and their number is (845) 897-9600. SplashDown Beach Water Park in Fishkill, NY near Poughkeepsie and features water rides for all ages and fun for the whole family.

Spratt Park Pool - This summer the Town of Poughkeepsie has partnered with the City of Poughkeepsie to run the pool at Spratt Park. Spratt Park is on Wilbur Boulevard just north of Christo's Restaurant and the McCann Golf Course.  The pool season is June 25-August 21. Open Swim hours are 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Lap Swimming from Noon to 1 PM and from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Sylvan Lake Beach is a private beach located in Hopewell Junction, NY. This campground offers swimming, camping, fishing, boating, horseshoe pits, volleyball, and basketball hoops.

Taconic State Park is located at 59 Rudd Pond Road Millerton, NY and is open to day visitors.  The beach is open 11am - 7pm on weekends and holidays only. 

Town of Washington Town Park is located at 3744 Route 44 Mabbetsville, NY.  The pool is open daily from noon – 7 pm.  Passes are available for both residents and nonresidents.

Wilcox Memorial Park is located at Route 199, Milan, NY and is open 10am - 7pm Thursday to Monday.  Enjoy swimming from Memorial Day to Labor Day on the sandy beach with a lifeguard on duty, a bathhouse, and snack bar located on the lower lake.
